9th International Conference on Virtual Machining Process Technologies
May 17-20, 2026, Vancouver, BC, Canada*
To stay competitive, industry must rapidly develop, prototype, test, and implement machining strategies that reduce costs while delivering superior quality. The most effective way to achieve this is by adopting a science-based digital approach to product development and manufacturing. By simulating the entire design-to-production process in a virtual environment, companies can identify optimal strategies early on—avoiding costly, time-consuming physical trials on the shop floor and accelerating innovation and time to market.
The 9th International Conference on Virtual Machining Process Technology (VMPT 2026) will be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada from May 17-20, 2026. VMPT is once again resuming its activities this year and will build on the inaugural conference held at the École Polytechnique, Montreal in 2012. Subsequent meetings held at Ontario, Calgary, Vancouver, and Taipei, Taiwan were attended by participants from academia and industry. Until Covid, CANRIMT’s VMPT conference series attracted participants from around the world, including those from educational institutes and industrial sectors. After the last one had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, the conference series is returning to its original site, organized by the University of British Columbia within the CANRIMTIII project framework. VMPT will continue in the coming years at partner universities.
Themes
VMPT 2026 will focus on the following themes:
